My baby shower

Imagine this.....

Wild mushroom soup with truffle
BBQ's Rannoh Farm quail with green mango, fresh coconut and nam jim
Mooloolaba prawn risotto with marcarpone & lemon
Victorian lamb loin, boulanger potato, fresh baby peas & Woodside goats curd
Warm dark chocolate soft centred pudding with thick cream & local strawberries
+ 7 wonderful, loving and supportive friends.
That was my baby shower.....

A little late....

Has anyone else only just taken down their Christmas tree?

Now to fit it into that ridiculously small box I bought it in........

Chemical Free House

This morning I packed up all the chemicals that seem to multiply under my sinks and am donating them to friends.

What on earth did I use all this stuff for... Is anybody's elses house just growing chemicals?!

First step towards my February goal....done.

By the way, the lack of posting has been due to my body attempting to navigate through this last trimester and me resisting the urge to fall asleep constantly. Am missing my second trimester mojo terribly!

One Small Change - February Pledge

FEBRUARY ONE SMALL CHANGE -
Rid my house of all chemical cleaners and make all my own cleaning products
I have become so much more aware of not only what I am eating but what I am using to clean my house.
Under my sink is a concoction of chemicals that make me really uneasy. I have transferred to homemade dishwashing liquid but that is as far as I have gotten.
So my pledge for the February One Small Change is to change over our....
  • Washing Powder
  • Dishwashing Liquid - already been happening since before Christmas but must continue with this one
  • Toilet & Bathroom Cleaner
  • Bench spray
  • Floor cleaner

My plan is to

  1. Get rid of all the chemical cleaners I have under my sink. I think I will bring them to work to give to our team members instead of throwing them out. I know that doesn't help promote the environmental message but I think getting these guys on board would be a hard one
  2. Make my washing powder - I plan to make a big bucket full before Paddy arrives.
  3. Make up a vinegar spray bottle for the kitchen, bathroom and toilet
  4. Stock up on vinegar for the floor cleaning

Another thing I have wanted to try is this recipe for homemade toothpaste. Promised myself I wouldn't buy any more toothpaste once the tube ran out and it is nearly there. So I might add that to my To Do list this month.

I will keep you updated with how I am going. Anybody else thinking of joining the one small change pledge....? You can join here
