Moving Forward

After spending the last week feeling sorry for myself, I have finally snapped out of it.

The change came when I walked outside and saw that I was growing sunflowers without even knowing it. I had been so consumed by my self pity that I had forgotten to look around me. What a joy to find at least 10 of these little beauties dotting the paddocks.

So I give myself a good stern talking to and went inside and baked these Condensed Milk Chocolate Chip cookies to celebrate.

(By the way, I halved this recipe and it made at least 30 little cookies)

1 can condensed milk
500g butter
1 1/2 cups caster sugar
5 cups SR flour
250g white chocolate
250g milk chocolate

  • Cream butter, sugar and condensed milk until pale and fluffy.
  • Add sifted flour and choc pieces and mix well
  • Bake at 180 degrees for 15 mins
I know the acceptance has come when today I got home from work and planted some herbs in the garden. This is a long way from getting home from work and slumping onto the couch.

Definitely moving forward!

Hi sweet thing!
Happy Birthday for the weekend. It looks like it was a fantastic Nat-Fest. I must say that I only got a smidgeon of what it must be like for a working mother when I worked for a few months earlier this year. I think you are an amazing woman for all that you do. I just wanted to let you know.

p.s. what are you doing tempting me with those devil cookies??!!
p.p.s I was just thinking this evening that I wanted to plant my herb garden here. We must be on the same wavelength.

Isn't it great how nature has a way of lifting your spirits!

I was feeling miserable yesterday, but a swim in the sea gave me a whole new outlook.

Glad you are feeling better too :)
