Natural Mosquito Repellent

Help!!! We have mosquitoes the size of dragons!!!

This is our first summer at this house so we weren't prepared for these critters.

I would love to sit out on my verandah without smelling the chemicals of mosquito coils burning.

Does anyone know of a proven natural mosquito deterents?

I am not happy to put any RID on Paddy's skin. Are there any baby friendly mosquito repellents out there that you have used?

Thanks friends...

Oh we have this problem and they really drive us mad...the little one is so allergic and they get so itchy!!!! aagghhhh....i use Buggeroff - no synthetic pesticides. I got it from a shop in Brisbane called Biome and some Amcal chemists stock it....i use it every morning when we head out and about - happy weekend to you and little Paddy.

I know my friend always used drops of lavender oil in a neutral oil / moisturiser base on her daughter, as she was (and still is) a mosquito magnet. There's a recipe for a natural repellent here: http://www.naturodoc.com/library/lifestyle/bug_repellent.htm With such a little one probably best to start with just one oil (like lavendar) well diluted to make sure there are no reactions. Lavendar is a natural insect repellent, so I hope this works for you. Good luck!
