Do I wake him up moment

I know you will all know what I am talking about.

It is 4pm and I am at that moment.
I am in the quiet, reading my blogs, spending much needed time with myself.
Paddy has been asleep for the last half and hour and it has been really nice and quiet. Have I mentioned how quiet it is here at the moment?!

Do I wake him up knowing that my peace and quiet will be shattered?

Or do I let him sleep knowing that if he sleeps much longer he will be a nightmare to put down early?

It seems like I go through this same dilemma every afternoon and every afternoon I never know what to do in the moment.

I never let my kids sleep past four, because I know it will be a nightmare come bedtime. Plus, I LOVE it when they go to bed at night...this is my time...(when the washing, dishes and tidying up are finished!)...the darkness, the silence of the house. I love that time more than the day - so I really want my kids to go to bed on time!!!

Each to their own though. It is nice to have time to yourself during the day. Miss T doesn't sleep during the day and Miss E only does sometimes...so I live for when they are in bed!!

Haha I have been having the same dilema! Its strange if he doesn't have that late 30 min sleep around 4.30 even 5.00 he won't sleep through the night..but if he does we don't hear a peep til 4.30! I remember my MIL saying sleep promotes sleep..and I thought WTF...but here I am eating my words.:). I think you deserve a few minutes of peace and quiet..before it starts again :)

What time do you put him down in the arvo? Can you make it a little earlier? I hear your pain though, that little hour-and-a-half or so of quiet bliss in the arvo is what makes motherhood bearable. Without it, we'd go loopy......
