Who Irons Anymore?

A friend said to me yesterday "I have to go home and do the ironing". Was she blowing me off or do people still have the traditional ironing basket in the corner.

I used to but found that I would only ever iron what I wanted to wear and left the rest. Now I don't even know where my iron is. I just take everything off the line and hang it up straight away.

If I don't have an ironing basket does that make me a bad person?

Ha ha ha - no....not at all!! The only reason I iron is that my husband is an emergency services worker and has to have ironed clothes. Occassionally I will iron a dress for the girls...but that is all!!! I iron on an "as need basis" (like a special event!). So if you're a bad person - I would be right there with you!!!

Am I a bad person because I let my family wear crumpled clothing? I have problems getting the clothes into the closet, so not ironing is the least of my problems!!! I do believe there are some who enjoy ironing - I am yet to understand this phenomenon, each to his own, though.

your not alone, and besides even if i ddid iron i have three sons who do not know how to keep things in draws or hangers - the rule is and always will be - if you want to wear it, you iron it.

No way! I just iron when its needed. I cringe when I hear people dedicating 2 hours of their week to ironing the washing... How awfully boring and pointless!

PS - Noticed your comments on LJ's blog and wanted to ask you about the Baby Beehinds.. Did your son wear the same nappies from birth to 3? I will look at their website..

My son is still only 3 months but I know that my sister still uses hers for her 1 year old and another friend also still uses hers for her 1 and a half year old. They haven't lost their absorbancy. Even if they only last for 2 years instead of 3 years they have paid for themselves over and over again.
