Confession time....

I AM A RECIPE HOARDER...... I buy cooking magazines every month - and not just one magazine either. I buy cookbooks like I buy milk - pretty much all the time. When I am bored at work I enter the world of taste.com.au and print off mountains of recipes.

This is all with good intentions of actually making the recipes, but the issue I have is demonstrated pretty fairly in the photos below... and you haven't seen my cookbook collection....

I know that I would cook a lot more if I had some structured way to access recipes. Say for instance I feel like cooking a pie. I have to wade through papers, books and magazines to work out what I want to cook. After an hour of that my enthusiasm has wavered a bit, but I press on. I then cook a beautiful pie, close the book or put away the piece of paper and completely forget where I found it in the first place. That pie remains hidden never to be seen again.

So I need some help! How can I sort my mountains of recipes so I can easily find what I need? How do you sort your recipes?

I used to have the same problem. I went through my cook books and gave away ones that i didnt love to bits ( you have to be strong to do this) then i picked up a few, maybe 2 cookbooks ar 3 magazines, and bookmarked what i wanted to try. I cooked them and if i liked them i wrote them into my own recipe book. Once that was done i shelved what i had gone through and picked out some more books. One day that book will be in the hands of my great great great grandaughter (i can only hope!)
