Christmas Decorations...

I know, I know - but I love Christmas. And this year our extended family is coming to our place to celebrate. So I am absolutely consumed at the moment with decorating.

Today I have been scavenging in our factory for cheap ideas. After shopping yesterday I discovered that christmas decorations are very expensive. So I employed Danny to help me and as it turns out we have a lot of waste in our factory that I can use.
Starting with these mirror sheets - we use them to make lights but I am going to use them to hang with ribbon off my frangipani tree in the front garden. Once you peel the plastic off they have a mirror finish - perfect.

I have decided to go with turquoise, white and red as my colours this year. Yesterday I bought wooden stars and painted them in turquoise. After watching me for a while, Danny informed me we have a machine at work that can make heaps of these stars out of waste. Loving it! This machine also cuts out letters - have huge plans for a big Merry Christmas to hang off my front balcony......

I am so excited!!!

It's a BOY!!!!

We found out in a scan a few days ago. You just can't take the smile from my face. Right now is the happiest I have been about our baby since I found out I was pregnant.
We had just a check scan after I had been so sick to make sure he was ok and of course he is perfect. Everything is developing as it should - Phew!!!
To know that we will be the Mum and Dad of a baby boy is just the absolute best feeling.
I love you little Paddy Cook xoxo

The adventures of my belly @ 17 weeks

It started at 5am this morning when I helped my mother-in-law at her Bazaar. It was a great morning with her and my sister-in-law. I haven't laughed that hard in a long time. Here is a photo of them behind their stall.

Then my beautiful husband and I (yes the loving happy hormones of the second trimester have kicked in!) went to the Caloundra Music Festival. Saw an awesome local band while we were sitting in the sand listening to the water. Truly relaxing.

Here's my belly relaxing on the beach watching dancing feet in the sand all around me.

We finished a great day off with dinner at our favourite restaurant.

Vegetable risotto balls with a beautiful chilli creamy sauce.

Did I mention I am completely in love with my husband xoxo

Crochet Bag

I finally finished my first crochet bag.
I love these bags - I use them to carry my groceries.

Now to make a heap more for Christmas presents xoxo

Vege garden

I am getting back on track. Starting to feel a lot more enthusiasm for life.

So here are photos of my small vege garden and herb garden we planted a while ago. I just have lettuce and silverbeet and some tomatoes in a pot. Small but I love it.

I thought I would also include a little photo of my 16 week belly.....

I look forward to brighter days ahead and regular blogging again xoxo

Stomach bug

My life is consumed at the moment by some wretched stomach bug I picked up from who knows where! I am on day 5 of this bug and slowly starting to see the end. It has been horrible and absolutely disgusting!!!!
While I have been lying on the couch in misery I have been dreaming of all the things I can do when I feel normal again. Especially making baby things. My Mum has whisked away her sewing machine but thank goodness I have a wonderful mother-in-law who is loaning me hers.
So this is what I want to do....
Start with baby wipes.......Move up to burp rags........Then to cot sheets......
And all this without having any idea how to sew - thank goodness for blogs and U-Tube! What a journey this is going to be - I am so excited! (well as excited as you can be with a bucket next to you...)
When I am back to standing vertical for more than 5 minutes I will post photos of my vege and herb gardens and my stash of hand me down baby clothes from my fabulous cousin. Thanks Emma!

Fingers crossed for a lazy weekend

The last two days have involved our take-away shop at Noosa, a Council Food Safety Officer and me scrubbing the floors on my hands and knees.

So this weekend is full of me lying in bed with my book and crocheting close by. Oh and my Mum teaching me to sew.

And not a husband in site to clean up after.

Perfect!!!
